MARTIN VU

PRINCIPAL | J.D., MBA, PMP®, CWEP

Martin founded RMS Energy Consulting with the goal of helping California achieve an economically and environmentally sustainable energy future. His experience covers the entire energy efficiency engineering spectrum. He has a comprehensive understanding of California's energy policies and long term strategic direction. 

With over 24 years of exceptional service experience, including being a veteran of the United States Air Force, his strengths are centered on serving others. As a National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council Member, Martin represents his congressional district as a point of contact with Members of Congress on small business issues. Additionally, as a California Technical Forum (CALTF) Member, Martin is one of 35 energy efficiency professional experts who address key issues relating to engineering workpapers and ex-ante reporting to regulating bodies, including the CPUC’s Energy Division and statewide investor-owned utilities.

Martin received his Bachelors degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology and his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He also obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the University of California, Irvine and completed his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Trinity Law School. Martin is a Certified Water Efficiency Professional (CWEP) and is currently studying to become a registered patent attorney.


GRACE VU

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Grace comes to the RMS team with over 20 years of experience working in customer service, corporate marketing, outside and inside sales, office administration and team management. Her experience in organizational success combined with her analytical skills to develop and integrate effective programs and procedures has contributed to the company’s need for operational productivity.

Her specialties include client relations, team compliance, operations management and financial budgeting and planning. As a former regional sales and marketing consultant with a large, national publishing company she continually exceeded seasonal sales goals by using her superior customer service skills to quickly negotiate and close sales contracts by knowledge of her customer base.

Her awareness and tenacity have prevented corporations from losing their largest business revenue accounts to regional competitors all while helping to maintain their good public image. Her teaching and sales experience provides RMS with incredible customer attention skills that will complete the company’s motive. Grace received her Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development from California State University at Fullerton.


DAVID WYLIE

SENIOR ENGINEERING ADVISOR

David+Wylie+RMS

David has over 40 years of unmatched engineering, business, and professional-level teaching experience. His multiple industry-wide awards and publications are recognized at local, state and national levels which includes Energy Engineering Magazine, Fairmont Press, ACEEE, ASHRAE, State of California and US EPA. 

As a Professional Engineer David also directed many projects that involved researching, developing historical content, attaining new data, conducting analysis, and communicating and reporting results.  He is also intimately familiar with California’s construction and building laws, and as a subject matter expert of Title 24 code related training, David has significant experience in conducting training needs assessments, developing curriculum, and instruction in this area.

He has extensive technical consulting experience in evaluating and making independent analysis including overseeing data collection and analysis for several CPUC statewide studies, emerging technology evaluations and electric grid load management development.


ANGELA CROWLEY

DATABASE ANALYST III

Angela’s professional skills and background center on software engineering and project management. Her experience spans across multiple industries including Vehicle Research and Development, Mutual Fund Investment, Non-Profit Organizations and Energy. 

Angela has supported several projects with data analysis including compiling large amounts of interval meter data for a joint partnership between an electric utility and a public water agency, a dairy cow cooling project, phase change material projects, high efficiency conveyor toaster testing, weather bin analysis, as well as many others. She is currently leading an OpenADR 2.0 research project, where the Open ADR 2.0b protocol will be measured and verified through lab demonstration at Southern California Edison’s Heat Pump Water Heater Lab in Irwindale, California.

Angela received her Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles with a technical Minor in Mathematics.”


STEVEN APODACA

ENERGY ENGINEER II

Steven’s professional skills and background center on energy engineering and project management support. His experience spans across several demand-side management activities for investor-owned energy utilities including engineering workpapers, ASHRAE Level 1 audits, weather bin simulation analysis and technical review, lighting survey meter verifications and emerging product discovery and ideation projects and portfolios. 

Steven earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego with a focus in digital signal processing systems.


IAN CHRISTENSEN

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST I

Ian currently supports the testing and evaluation of commercial foodservice equipment at Southern California Edison’s Foodservice Technology Center in Irwindale, California.  He also participates in local customer outreach and contributes to SCE’s foodservice energy education programs. 

Through his lab testing support, Ian was recently instrumental in the adoption of the High Efficiency Conveyor Toaster Workpaper; which has led to a new rebate/incentive offering at SCE.  In addition to supporting the Foodservice Technology Center, Ian’s energy background includes supporting measurement and verification projects for ASHRAE level 1 audits.


BRIAN M. CHOI

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST I

A graduate from California State University, Los Angeles with bachelor’s degrees in Industrial Technology and Business Administration, Brian leverages his experience and education with sustainable energy technologies, automotive and mobility engineering, and business management in support of RMS initiatives and projects. He currently supports the Southern California Edison’s Foodservice Technology Center in Irwindale, California.  

At the Foodservice Technology Center, Brian helps to evaluate and test commercial foodservice equipment such as ovens, fryers, and induction cooktops for efficiency qualifications for rebates. He also participates in the outreach and education of various stakeholders in the foodservice industry regarding high efficiency foodservice equipment.


JEREMY SASSE

PART-TIME SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Jeremy joins the RMS team with over 10 years of experience in customer service, program management, community outreach, and nonprofit administration. He is currently the project management lead overseeing all projects within the RMS portfolio. He is actively working with California’s Energy Codes and Standards (EC&ES) team to develop and deliver education and training content for California Title 24 and Title 20 compliance. Jeremy is also working to support California’s Emerging Products team to assess advanced lighting control systems and fan exhaust systems. In addition, Jeremy actively leads the development and update of statewide workpapers and custom solution code measures by accelerating the commercialization and development of new, emerging, and underutilized technologies into demand-side management rebate and incentive programs.

As an Arkansas native, Jeremy graduated from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock with a Bachelor’s in Public Health Education and Promotion and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration at Texas A&M University.
